Sewing Bee has introduced new theme weeks this year. “We’ve added athletic wear for the first time,” says Patrick, “and a week of lingerie and international clothes. It gives us new machines to play with and some quite difficult fabrics.”
Results have been completely unpredictable. “Every season up until now, I’ve had a sense almost from the very beginning of who the strongest were,” says Patrick. “Certain people have been clear leaders. You could almost have picked the final pretty early on, but this year if we’d been asked to pick in the first two weeks…”
“We’d have been wrong,” says Esme.
Clearly all three have had a whale of a time filming. But what, for Claudia, makes Sewing Bee special compared to her other presenting gigs?
“This is one of the few things I do that isn’t live, so I can mess up a lot – which I do,” she laughs.
