A man who calls himself a doctor is accused of trying to meet a 12-year-old for sex.
Ronald Grocoff, who goes by “Dr. Ron” on his online profiles, was caught in an FBI Internet sting.
He appears to be in the medical consulting field, and was once a foot doctor and surgeon in Texas.
Grocoff lists himself as a rock and blues guitarist in a local band called The RonJohn Band.
Investigators with the FBI’s Innocent Images Unit, which was set up to investigate sex and child exploitation crimes, created an online ad where an undercover officer posed as a dad who was offering up his 12-year-old daughter for sex.
They said Grocoff responded with messages from his cellphone that read, “I love pleasing others,” and “Are we going to do this?”
Court documents show at one point, Grocoff said he would pay $75 to engage in oral sex and sexual intercourse with the girl, but later changed the deal to include an extra $20, some lingerie and marijuana for sex.
A few days later they said Grocoff showed up at a meeting spot in Lake Mary in his silver Infiniti with drugs, cash and lingerie.
At his home, his wife told Channel 9 she didn’t want to talk about her husband’s arrest.
Grocoff was arrested six years ago in a case where a Seminole County Sheriff’s Office report shows he tried to buy lingerie from a woman on Craigslist.
According to the report, he tried on a bra and slip, and asked her to rub his fake breast and when she didn’t, he grabbed her breast.
He was charged with a misdemeanor in that case.
