Make your page a forum. People love to debate and discuss with one another as to why their opinions are better than others. Making your page a place to discuss the latest political issues would generate more comments. More comments will mean a better EdgeRank for your page.

Add Photos and Videos. Photos and Videos require users to click on them to make them big enough to see. Add a funny caption to encourage users to open the photo or video. The more interaction you get on your page via those photos and videos the better the ranking for your page. Remember photos and videos score better than link or text posts.

Share Links. People can’t help clicking on links especially if you promote it as “cutest cat picture ever” will get users to click on it. Don’t be afraid of driving other users to look at content on other websites, people will still be interacting on your page. Link posts also score higher in EdgeRank than just text.

Keep things interesting. You have to be on top of the news cycle if you want to get more people involved in your posts. If you add content about a topic already a week old then you’ll find that you won’t move up the news feed. You can even save posts and videos that would be better suited to another time like seasonal news.

Ask other people to contribute. Ask your friends and followers to share their favorite videos or pictures will give your page a more dynamic relationship.

EdgeRank doesn’t have to confuse you or scare you. Bottom line, content is still king and if you post content that users will want to share or comment on then you’ll still get it on ‘Top News’ any day.
