On the Friday before Christmas, I had a generous impulse and decided to pick up two more stocking stuffers for my wife.
Unfortunately, this didn’t go as well as I had hoped.
My wife had mentioned she liked the Soma Intimates store at the Shops at University Square, so I wanted to get her a gift card. However, I’m a little “old school” and I know that Grandpa does not belong in a women’s intimate apparel store.
My plan was to keep my head down, go straight to the checkout, buy a gift card and get out of the store without making eye contact with any of the products or with other customers.
That was the plan anyway, but it didn’t work. The store was too busy. As a diversion, I went upstairs to get some chocolates at the Chocolaterie Stam, where I felt more comfortable. Then I went back downstairs and milled around outside Soma again.
