ANGELINA COUNTY, TX (KTRE) -
Investigators with the Angelina County Sheriff’s Office believe the so-called “lingerie looter” has struck again. This time, the burglary suspect struck a house on CC Road outside of Diboll.
Lt. Pete Maskunas with the Angelina County Sheriff’s Office said the 911 call came in Thursday. A patrol deputy went out to take the report from the home owners.
Although the home owners weren’t sure exactly what had been taken, they said some of the woman’s underwear and a few other items were taken.
Maskunas said the MO is similar to the 19 to 20 other burglaries ACSO investigators attribute to the so-called “lingerie looter.” The suspect forced his way into the home, but no pictures were taken. The ACSO lieutenant said they believe the last time that the burglar struck was a case that the Lufkin Police Department worked in November 2013.
The Angelina County Sheriff’s office, the Lufkin Police Department, the Diboll Police Department, and the Texas Rangers are all working different leads on the case. Maskunsas said it now a county-wide investigation and that the sheriff’s office is not taking this incident lightly.
The burglaries date back to 2009, according to Maskunas.
Maskunas said that people should be on the lookout for anyone in their area who looks like they don’t belong or like they’re just passing through. People who spot unfamiliar vehicles or who have had people knock on their doors for no reason are urged to call in even if it seems minor.
Anyone with any information should call Maskunas or Sgt. Harold Rapsilver at (936) 634-3331.
