Dine out this week with special culinary events that will save you money or support a cause. Take in the winter fun at Igloofest in the Old Port and Fête des neiges at Parc Jean-Drapeau.
Le Chop is offering reduced-price three-course table d’hôte meals at the local restaurants that are part of the Tom Nacos Group: Decca 77, Newtown, Kyozon, L’Atelier d’Argentine and Wienstein Gavino’s.
There are plenty of dishes to tantalize your taste buds. How about a pizza at Wienstein Gavino’s with duck confit, caramelized onions and figs? Or end your meal at Kyozon with chocolate and sweet ginger cheesecake.

It may be labelled as the ultimate family event but this outdoor festival is fun for all ages. For the next four weekends Parc Jean-Drapeau is transformed into a winter wonderland with an assortment of activities and shows. Some of the free activities include snow tubing, zip lining, riding the ice slide and exploring a labyrinth in the woods. Paid activities include dogsledding ($15) and horse-drawn carriage rides ($13).
There will also be plenty of entertainment over the month like musical performances and live ice-sculpting shows. Guests can stick around for dinner on Saturday nights at the Trippe Bouffe food truck area. Just a few of the trucks on site will be Das Food Truck, Boîte à Fromages and Traiteur Guru.

Renoir restaurant is teaming up with the Quebec Breast Cancer Foundation and Leucan (an association that helps cancer-stricken children and their families) for a cocktail and six-course meal with wine. This feast will be prepared by some of the city’s most notable chefs including Jonathan Lapierre-Réhayem from Laloux, Simon Mathys from Micro Resto La Famille and Renoir’s own Olivier Perret. All proceeds from the evening, as well as from the silent auction, will be donated to the two foundations.
When: Jan. 22 from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m.

Salon de l’Amour et de la Séduction
Start heating things up a few weeks before Valentine’s Day at the 21st edition of this sensual event. Throughout the weekend there will be a variety of shows on the main stage including an erotic circus, games for everyone with fun prizes and lingerie fashion shows. The salon includes a variety of scheduled events such as seminars, erotic art and burlesque performances. Exhibitors will also be displaying their wares with a kinky selection of products including sex toys, lingerie, books, massagers and more.

Grab your warmest parka and boots and get ready for four weekends of winter celebrations in the Old Port. The electronic music festival has an impressive roster of musicians. We’re especially looking forward to Osheaga night on Feb. 1 with performances by Tiga, Keys N Krates and J.u.D. The igloo village will provide the backdrop for the festival with its ice sculptures, ice bars and fire pits. And, of course, the one-piece snowsuit contest is back with a sunny all-inclusive vacation as a prize for the winner.
