Continuing the Girls theme from yesterday, today I bring you news of the series’ costume designer who has just joined Aerie lingerie as its style and fit expert. Jenn Rogien, who is responsible for the cool New York clothing on HBO’s Girls, will embark on a six-month partnership with the American Eagle Outfitters brand. As part of her new role, she will participate in viral videos, store appearances and customer fitting sessions, in addition to offering lingerie advice and tips to young girls across the US.

“I’ve used Aerie as an intimates resource for years. I love that Aerie is about real girls who are wearing fun undies as a part of their everyday wardrobe, to the point where it becomes a must-have accessory. Those intimates have helped me tell the stories of real girls, pretty girls, fun girls, she told WWD of her new appointment.

The news of Rogien’s gig with Aerie comes just a week prior to the second season premiere of Girls in the US on January 13. As costume designer on the hit show, Rogien’s job is to dress the characters in a way that is “young, honest, and fresh.”

“The overall theme of the show is all the mistakes we go through when we’re trying to find our footing,” she recently told the New York Times. “We wanted to embrace all those factors – the youth, the first job, the insecurity in relationships, both romantic and friendship – and see if we could reflect that through the clothing.”

Her next TV job will be on the upcoming Netflix series, Orange is the New Black, starring Taylor Schilling, Jason Biggs, and Laura Prepon, and due to première later this year.
