Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Deputy Wrecks in Walton County, Charged with DUI – Monroe Patch
The Georgia State Patrol reports that a Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Deputy vehicle was involved in a wreck at 1:20 a.m. this morning on Georgia Highway 81 at Double Springs Road in Walton County.
According to the trooper, a the Sheriff’s Department vehicle ran off the road, struck an embankment and overturned several times. In a press release, GSP reported that nobody was around the vehicle when first responders arrived. They later located the driver, a Gwinnett County Sheriff’s deputy, at his residence. He had sustained minor injuries. A female passenger was found walking near the crash scene.
The driver, Robert Christopher Matt, 27, from Bethlehem, was charged with driving under the influence, leaving the scene of an accident, failing to maintain lane and open container. He was taken to Walton County Jail.
The passenger in the vehicle, Katie Lynn, age 27, from Lawrenceville, was taken by ambulance to Gwinnett Medical for treatment of injuries.
Alleged Cattle Rustler Arrested Months After Livestock Theft – Alpharetta Patch
A Marietta man was arrested five months after he allegedly stole a cow and kept the auction money for another cow he was to sell for his employer.
The suspect was supposed to take one of a Milton man’s cow’s to auction in early April 2012 and return the money to him. Instead, his employer said he also took an Angus cow that belonged to his neighbor and failed to return the auction money.

Lingerie Football League Coming to Gwinnett – Dacula Patch
The metro Atlanta area will soon become home to another sports team.
On Oct. 2, the Lingerie Football League announced Gwinnett County will host the league’s 12th team.
The LFL is currently accepting name suggestions for the new team. Fans are invited to submit possible team names to LFLinAtlanta@LFLUS.com by Friday, Oct. 19. The LFL will also host an open tryout, but the date has not yet been announced.

Former Loganville Funeral Director’s License Suspended After He Dismembers Body – Loganville Patch
Ellenberg Funeral Services on Highway 81 in Loganville closed down almost as quickly as it opened. It is now being reported that the owner, William B. Ellenger III, has had his licenses suspended following a series of bizarre incidents.
According to CBS Atlanta, Ellenberg, who also is the owner of Metro Embalming and Crematory in Conyers, had his license suspended after it was reported that he dismembered an 800-pound body in the Conyers location in order to fit it into the crematory.
