DAYTON — Dayton International Airport officials began using the airport’s
Facebook and Twitter pages on Thursday to provide travel tips and
information to passengers.

The social-media networks offer additional ways to get real-time information
to air travelers, airport officials said.

Information is also available through the airport’s website at
www.flydayton.com.

Business travelers account for about 60 percent of the Dayton airport’s
passenger traffic.

In July, the number of people boarding planes in Dayton increased by 5.5
percent to 121,255 passengers, up from 114,923 in July 2010. For the year so
far, passenger boardings are up by 1.6 percent to 734,141, compared with
722,509 a year earlier.
